Mary’s first introduction to the NYU Journalism program was as graduate student. While still in the program she was asked to substitute for an adjunct and has been teaching there ever since, first as an adjunct and now as a clinical professor.   She teaches research, reporting and writing courses on both the graduate and undergraduate level as well as feature and magazine writing.

In most of her classes, students either write their own individual blogs or for a course website. In the graduate magazine Writing/Reporting Workshop her students publish NYUmag.com. In The Beat: Covering Millennials the student publish GENYU.net  and in her Advanced Reporting: Fame class student produce fameology.net.

Her syllabi are online at http://journalism.nyu.edu/about-us/courses/.
